Elders

Georgina Island seniors aged 65+ come together every Wednesday for community dinners held at the Community Centre at 5:00 p.m. These weekly gatherings provide an opportunity for social connection and shared meals in a welcoming environment.

In addition, a Homemaker Program is available to support seniors with essential home maintenance tasks, including snow plowing and walkway clearing during the winter months, lawn cutting in the summer, and occasional odd jobs around the home. This program helps seniors remain safe, independent, and comfortable in their own homes.

Throughout the year, seniors also enjoy a variety of day trips and overnight excursions to different destinations. Past outings have included visits to St. Jacobs Market, Grand Bend, Haliburton, the Parry Sound boat cruise, as well as numerous theatre performances and dinner shows.

Beyond travel, the group participates in a wide range of cultural activities, health and wellness programs, and arts and crafts. These activities foster creativity, strengthen social connections, and provide meaningful opportunities to celebrate shared culture and community.

Please reach out to Kim or Amanda for more information.
