Council

A Chief and four council members, who stand for election every four years, constitute the political governance of Georgina Island. Chief and Council oversee portfolios including public works, transportation, emergency services, economic development, education, housing, financing and human resources. We are a progressive and proud First Nation that is open to new business and partnership opportunities.

Bill McCue holds Economic Development, Employment, Lands and Resources, Environment, Administrative, Taxation. Dylan Big Canoe holds Radio, Education, Recreation and Health. Benson Big Canoe hold Transportation Operations, Water Works, Housing, and Public Works and Infrastructure. Alicia Trivett holds ECE, Social Services, Police, Culture, Hunting and Fishing.
