In the short term, contaminates found in common hazardous household and industrial materials can cause eye and skin irritation, vomiting, dizziness and headaches. Long term health problems due to these contaminants can negatively affect the central nervous system, damage the liver, kidneys and the brain, or cause various cancers, among other health effects. These toxic substances will eventually leach into our lake and may cause these health issues for our future grandchildren and great-grandchildren. It is very important that all hazardous waste is put in its proper place. Please shop at stores that offer alternatives that are less hazardous to our environment. Thank you for your cooperation.
